Demonstrative Pronouns In Chinese Grammar: A Simple Guide

Demonstrative pronouns in Chinese take the place of a noun.

Demonstrative pronouns are in the same form as demonstrative adjectives, but they always have an accent mark.

English Chinese Characters Pinyin
This 这个 Zhège
That 那个 Nàgè
These 这些 Zhèxiē
Those 那些 Nàxiē

Examples in Chinese:

That is your sweater.

那个是你的毛衣

Nàgè shì nǐ de máoyī

This blouse is mine

这个襯衫是我的

Zhège chènshān shì wǒ de

These dogs are mine

这些狗是我的

Zhèxiē gǒu shì wǒ de

Those dogs are mine

那些狗是我的

Nàxiē gǒu shì wǒ de
